Start with an itemized quote
There is no single inspection price that fits every North Carolina home. Grounded home inspections start at $350. That is a starting price, not a promise that every property qualifies. Call with the address and property details for a quote. We do not present an unsupported statewide average.
A useful comparison begins with what each quote includes. Ask about the property being inspected, the report, the review and any separate appointments. The written agreement should make the services and cost clear.
Information to have ready
Share the approximate size and age, property type, known additions, included outbuildings, access arrangements and transaction deadline. Mention unusual layouts or difficult access rather than waiting until inspection day. These details help the business explain the proposed scope and scheduling.
Ask whether the quote is for the home inspection alone. Radon, laboratory water testing, mold sampling and coordinated third-party services answer different questions and may involve separate charges. Grounded quotes these services for the property rather than publishing a one-price package for every situation.
Compare the experience as well as the amount
Ask how findings are explained, when the report is delivered and how you can ask follow-up questions. At Grounded, the home inspection report is delivered within 24 hours; ancillary laboratory and provider reports follow their own schedules.
A lower price does not tell you whether scopes match. A higher price does not guarantee that every defect will be found. Inspections have access and observation limits at any price.
Before you book
Confirm the final services, total quote and payment arrangements. Review the agreement and leave time for specialist follow-up. If you are deciding between optional services, describe your concern so the conversation focuses on the question you need answered. Do not assume a lender-required test is included without checking the lender’s exact requirements.
