Radon testing

You cannot see radon. You can test for it.

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can enter a home from the ground. Testing is the way to find out the level in your home; a neighbor’s result cannot establish yours. Add testing to a home inspection or ask about a standalone appointment.

What to expect

What do the results mean?

EPA recommends reducing radon at 4 pCi/L or higher and considering reduction between 2 and 4 pCi/L. We can explain the reported measurement and discuss appropriate follow-up. A qualified mitigation contractor handles radon reduction work.

Do newer homes need testing?

A home’s age or appearance cannot tell you its radon level. Ask about testing whether you are buying a new home, an older property or checking your current residence.

Understand the scope

Keep windows closed and follow the closed-building instructions we provide before and during testing. Normal entry and exit are permitted. Weather, access and test conditions can affect scheduling.

Plan around your timeline
